BYU posts tuition benefits change for employees' spouses, dependents

Eliminates one-year waiting period

The eligibility requirement for spouses and dependents of full-time Brigham Young University employees to receive tuition benefits has been changed. Effective with the start of spring term 2008, the one-year waiting period has been eliminated. Spouses and dependents will be eligible for tuition benefits if the employee has reached age 30 by the add/drop deadline for spring term on May 5.

The former eligibility requirement has been changed from, “Spouses and children become eligible to receive tuition benefits when university personnel are at least age 30 with one year of eligible service, or have five years of eligible service.” The new eligibility requirement reads, “Spouses and children become eligible to receive tuition benefits when university personnel are at least age 30, or have five years of eligible service.”
