BYU plans education career fair Feb. 26

Career Placement Services at Brigham Young University will host its first career fair for education teaching students Thursday, Feb. 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Wilkinson Student Center Ballroom on the BYU campus.

More than 50 school districts from Utah and throughout the United States are registered for the fair.

Career Placement Services is presenting the fair at BYU to make it more convenient for a larger number of students and graduates to attend.

“We have always participated in the statewide teacher fair held each year at the University of Utah, and we will again this year,” said Lisa Gregory, placement adviser for the David O. McKay School of Education and fair coordinator.

The majority of schools registered to attend BYU's fair are not from Utah, a result of the Career Placement Services' efforts to travel throughout the United States promoting BYU’s education teaching students.

BYU is one of the largest teacher resources of any college or university in the United States, Gregory said.

More than 800 future teachers, education counselors and administrators from BYU are expected to attend the fair.
