BYU Philharmonic to perform "The Planets" Nov. 17

Brigham Young University’s Philharmonic Orchestra will be performing Wednesday, Nov. 17, at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

Tickets for the concert can be purchased at the Fine Arts Ticket Office, (801) 422-4322, or by visiting byuarts.com. Tickets range in price from $6 to $10.

The orchestra, conducted by Kory Katseanes, is comprised of 95 of the university’s finest student-musicians. They will be performing works by Claude Debussy and BYU emeritus faculty member David Sargent. A highlight of the concert will be “The Planets” by Gustav Holst.

BYU study finds the real reasons why some people choose not to use artificial intelligence

In a recent study, BYU professors Jacob Steffen and Taylor Wells explored why some people are still reluctant to use GenAI tools. While some people might worry about an AI apocalypse, Steffen and Wells found that most non-users are more concerned with issues like trusting the results, missing the human touch or feeling unsure if GenAI is ethical to use.
