BYU Philharmonic Orchestra in concert Nov. 21

The Brigham Young University Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Kory Katseanes will perform its fall concert Thursday (Nov. 21) at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

Tickets at $9 for the general public and $3 off with BYU or student ID are available in the Fine Arts Ticket Office, (801) 378-4322 or at www.byu.edu/hfac.

The ensemble, featuring BYU's top student instrumentalists, will perform a selection of classical pieces including Brahms' Symphony No. 3, The Overture to "The Marriage of Figaro" by Mozart, "Rumanian Rhapsody No.1" by Enesco and the Overture to "Fidelio" by Beethoven.

The BYU Philharmonic Orchestra is also planning a mid-semester tour to Arizona where they will perform their fall repertoire.

With the exponential rise in drone activity, safely managing low-flying airspace has become a major issue. Using a network of small, low-cost radars, engineering professor Cammy Peterson and her colleagues have built an air traffic control system for drones that can effectively and accurately track anything in an identified low-altitude airspace.
