BYU Opera Scenes to feature Mozart works Feb. 25-28

The Brigham Young University School of Music presents “Strictly Mozart,” an evening of opera scenes, Wednesday through Saturday, Feb. 25-28, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

The performances are free and the public is welcome to attend.

Three operas will be highlighted in this year’s event: “Don Giovanni,” “The Abduction from the Seraglio” and “The Marriage of Figaro.”

Director Lawrence Vincent said the program will include acting as well as singing.

“We use stylistic stage settings and costume design,” Vincent said. “The program is complete, with full movement and staging.”

Barbara Allen, the principal vocal coach, will accompany the students on piano.

For more information, contact Lawrence Vincent at 422-3165.
