BYU Office Professionals Advisory Committee lists 2006-2007 events

BYU’s Office Professionals Advisory Committee and Human Resource Services have announced the 2006-2007 OPAC schedule of events. This year’s theme is “Joy in the Journey,” which is supported by the scripture found in D&C 100:12: “Therefore, continue your journey and let your hearts rejoice; for behold, and lo, I am with you even unto the end.”

Each year OPAC sponsors brown bag presentations at 12:05 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month, October through February. All interested office professionals are invited to bring their lunch and enjoy the monthly presentations. This year’s speakers are:

  • Brian Hansbrow, Oct. 12, 3211 WSC

  • Janene Baadsgaard, Nov. 9, 3211 WSC

  • Janene Farley, Dec. 14, 3224 WSC

  • Damon Bolli, Jan. 11, 3211 WSC

  • Jeremy Stevenson, Feb. 8, 3211 WSC The 15th Annual Office Professionals Conference will be held Wednesday through Friday, March 14-16 in the Wilkinson Student Center. Brad Wilcox will be the conference keynote speaker, with general sessions by Newell Dayley and Dale and Nancy Murphy. The conference provides opportunities for personal and professional growth, and shows appreciation for excellence exhibited by professional personnel at all levels of office support. Registration will be available Feb. 15-March 1.

All presentations are recorded and posted on the OPAC Web site within two weeks of the event. Visit www.byu.edu/hr/opac/ to listen to past OPAC presentations.

The Office Professionals Advisory Committee consists of a representative from each academic college and operational division across campus and functions under the direction of Human Resource Services. The mission of OPAC is to advise the assistant administrative vice president for Human Resource Services; to promote excellence by providing opportunities for networking, recognition, and exchange of ideas; and to encourage personal and professional growth.
