BYU offers free concerts, performances Nov. 2-9

Several free-admission music and dance events will be featured November 2-9 in the Madsen Recital Hall, Museum of Art Auditorium and Richards Building Dance Studio at Brigham Young University.

Group for New Music under the direction of BYU School of Music professor and composer Murray Boren will perform contemporary music Saturday (Nov. 2) at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

Students from the BYU School of Music will present an evening of brass chamber music Tuesday (Nov. 5) at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

The BYU Jazz Legacy Dixieland Band under the direction of Steve Call will perform a concert of classic jazz and Dixieland pieces Wednesday (Nov. 6) at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

KBYU-FM Classical 89 presents "Music from the MOA," featuring Scott Holden, professor of piano in the BYU School of Music. This evening of "Performance and Conversation" will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 7) in the BYU Museum of Art Auditorium. Highlighted on the program will be Schumann's piano classic "Carnaval."

The BYU Fall Senior Dance Showcase will be presented Friday and Saturday (Nov. 8 and 9) at 7:30 p.m. in the Richards Building Dance Studio Theatre, 166 Richards Building.

The BYU Harp Ensemble will perform an evening of harp music Saturday (Nov. 9) at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.
