BYU offers Brass-Saxophone Chamber Night Dec. 3

The Brigham Young University School of Music presents an evening of brass and saxophone music during the Brass-Saxophone Chamber Night, Tuesday (Dec. 3). Admission is free and the performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

Music from many different genres will be performed including "Cheek to Cheek" by Berlin, "Peace Be Still" by Kenneth Cope and "Scherzo" by Cheetham.

The saxophone quintet includes students Darren Smith, soprano saxophone; Megan Fisher, alto saxophone; Chris Wilson, tenor saxophone; Garin Fuhriman, baritone saxophone and D.B. Long, bass saxophone.

"Disco Inferno: A Saturday Night Fever Medley" arranged by Bret Pimentel will feature a saxophone quartet including students Bret Pimentel, soprano saxophone; Tanya Jo Mitchell, alto saxophone; Philip Nelson, tenor saxophone and John Bolton, baritone saxophone.

The brass quintet includes students Jordan Jacobson, trombone; Rob Davis, horn; Golden Lund, Tuba with Nathan Galloway and Dale Richards on trumpet.

They will perform "The Huron Carol," a traditional carol arranged by Henderson and Sonata from "Die Bankelsangenlieder" translated by King.
