BYU nursing faculty member to address March 2 Devotional

Barbara Heise, assistant professor in the Brigham Young University College of Nursing, will speak at the University Devotional Tuesday, March 2, at 11 a.m. in the Marriott Center.

The devotional will be broadcast live on all the BYU Broadcasting channels. Rebroadcasts and archive information will be available at byub.org/devotionals or at speeches.byu.edu.

Heise has been teaching at BYU since 2005. Her areas of expertise include psychiatric and gerontology research. Before joining the BYU faculty, Heise taught at the University of Virginia for several years. She also earned her Ph.D. from the University of Virginia.

Heise has experience in academic and clinical work in many areas of the industry. She has been honored with the Florence Nightingale Award from Missouri Southern State College. In 2006, she was awarded the Gerontology Program Research Award from the BYU School of Family Life and the Health Care Workforce FAP Award from the Utah Department of Health.
