BYU Music Dance Theatre New York City Showcase April 1-2

The Brigham Young University School of Music presents the Music Dance Theatre New York City Showcase Thursday and Friday, April 1 and 2, at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. in the Nelke Experimental Theatre.

Tickets are $5 for advance purchase and $6 at the door. Tickets are available through the Fine Arts Ticket Office, (801) 378-4322 or at www.byu.edu/hfac.

In its second year, the showcase, directed by Tim Threlfall, is a senior capstone experience for music/dance/theatre students.

"This is a 50-minute musical review, and because the students choose their own pieces, it represents everything from the golden age of musicals to more contemporary work," Threlfall said. "There are also quite a few monologues in this year's show."

Threlfall said the 14 students will travel together to New York to perform this same showcase for a group of agents, producers and casting directors.

"It's designed to be an introduction into the professional world for them."

For more information about the MDT New York Showcase, contact Tim Threlfall at (801) 422-8133.
