BYU Museum of Peoples, Cultures hosts date night Jan. 22

Brigham Young University’s Museum of Peoples and Cultures will be hosting two “Culture-Me-Mine” date night events on Friday, Jan. 22, at 6 and 8 p.m.

Tickets are $10 a couple and can be purchased at the Wilkinson Student Center Information Desk.

The date night will include a personalized tour of the current exhibitions, “New Lives: Building Communities at Fourmile Ruin” and “Kachinas of the Southwest: Danes, Dolls and Rain.” There will also be a game of “Couple Feud,” a scavenger hunt and refreshments. Couples will finish the night by making pottery and sculptures, just like the Anasazi people of Fourmile Ruin.

“This will give people a great opportunity to learn about cultures that they’ve never experienced before,” said Anna McKean, MPC promotions manager. “Our exhibits are really unique and they show just how different life used to be here in America.”

The museum is located on 100 E. 700 N. in Provo. Regular hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is free.

For more information, visit mpc.byu.edu, e-mail mpc@byu.edu or contact Anna McKean at (801) 422-0020.
