BYU museum hosts free Cub Scout Open House June 26

The Museum of Peoples and Cultures at Brigham Young University will host a “Cub Scout Open House,” a fun educational summer activity for Cub Scouts, Wednesday, June 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Cub scouts will have the opportunity to pass off electives and requirements from the Bear and Wolf Handbooks. Admission is free and no reservations are required. The museum is located at 100 E. 700 N. in Provo.

"This is our eighth year conducting the program," said Kari Nelson, curator of education at the museum. "It’s always popular with both parents and children, and we have a lot of fun doing it."

The museum hosts educational events to serve the academic mission of BYU by training students to teach about and care for anthropological and archaeological collections in the custody of the university. Educating visitors through events allows the MPC to branch out in creative ways that benefit the BYU and local community.

For more information, visit facebook.com/byu.mpc or mpc.byu.edu. The museum is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is closed Saturday and Sunday.
