BYU linguist Neil J. Anderson to present devotional May 8

Neil J. Anderson, professor in the Brigham Young University Department of Linguistics and English Language, will present the first devotional of Spring Term Tuesday, May 8, at 11:05 a.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

The devotional will be broadcast live on the BYU Broadcasting channels. For rebroadcast information, visit byubroadcasting.org.

The professor will speak on "Responding to the Savior's Invitation: Come."

Anderson earned bachelor's and master's degrees at BYU and a doctorate at the University of Texas at Austin. Since completing his education, Anderson has worked as a program associate for Measurement and Evaluation at the Center for Applied Linguistics in Manila, Philippines; as director of the Summer Institute for English Language Educators from Francophone and Lusophone Africa in Athens, Ohio; and as a Fulbright research fellow at the Centro Cultural Costarricense Norteamericano and Universidad de Costa Rica in San Jose, Costa Rica, among other assignments.

In addition to his current work as professor, Anderson is also the academic coordinator for the BYU English Language Center. He has written four books and numerous articles contributing to the field of linguistics.
