The 17th Brigham Young University Symposium on Books for Young Readers will be held Friday and Saturday, July 16 and 17, at the Provo City Library and the BYU campus.
Designed for librarians, teachers and parents, the two-day symposium will feature nationally acclaimed authors and illustrators, including Jennifer Armstrong, author of "Shipwreck at the Bottom of the World," Lynn Curlee, author of "Capital; Brooklyn Bridge," and Robert Sabuda, an artist known for his work in "The Paper Dragon" and "The Blizzard's Robe."
Naomi Shihab Nye, a Lannan and Guggenheim fellow and author of "19 Varieties of Gazelle: Poems of the Middle East," will give the Virginia Sorenson Lecture during a dinner Friday evening.

The symposium is sponsored by the BYU Department of Teacher Education, the Harold B. Lee Library, the Division of Continuing Education, the BYU Bookstore and the Provo City Library.
