BYU hosts science fiction, fantasy symposium Feb. 19-21

The 22nd Annual Science Fiction/Fantasy Symposium, “Life, the Universe and Everything,” will be held Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 19-21, in the Brigham Young University Wilkinson Student Center from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.

The symposium will feature writers, publishers, editors and specialists in the science fiction and fantasy genre.

Activities will include panel discussions on a comparison between the books and movies in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, science in science fiction and religious movements in science fiction/fantasy.

Workshops throughout the day include instruction on such varied topics as media editing, jewelry making and poetry for teens and adults.

A dance, concert, games, and storytelling are also on the program.
