BYU hosts Peabody Conservatory artists in recital May 20

The Brigham Young University School of Music welcomes guest violin artist Misha Rosenker with Jonathan Korth on the piano Tuesday, May 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

This event is free and the public is welcome to attend.

Rosenker and Korth will perform a selection of works including Dvorak's Sonatina in G Major and Beethoven's Sonata in D Major.

Misha Rosenker enjoys a diverse career as a solo performer, chamber musician, orchestral player and teacher. He has been a faculty member at the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University during the past academic year.

An active chamber music performer, Rosenker has collaborated with members of the San Francisco, Philadelphia and Cleveland Orchestras. His music festival affiliations include Sun Valley, Carmel and the Brevard Music Festival where he is a violin faculty member and principal second violin of the Festival Orchestra.

After early studies with his father, Michael Rosenker, former associate concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic, he continued his studies with Josef Gingold and Sidney Harth, receiving degrees from Yale and Indiana University.

Johathan Korth is studying in the master's program at the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University. Last December, Jonathan presented his first New York Concert at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall. Jonathan has a special interest in chamber music and performs extensively around the Baltimore metropolitan area as a chamber musician and collaborative artist.
