BYU hosts free concerts Dec. 4-9

A series of free concerts will take place on the Brigham Young University campus the week of Dec. 4-9, hosted by the School of Music and the Department of Dance.

  • Tuesday, Dec. 5 A String Chamber Night will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall. The program will include selections such as Camille's Saint-Saens' "Romance," Op. 37, the second movement of "Fantasy Sonata for Harp and Viola" by Arnold Bax and the finale of Mozart's Quintet in G Minor, among other pieces.

    In addition, Eric Hansen will direct the Symphony Orchestra at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

  • Wednesday, Dec. 6 The Madsen Recital Hall will host the Songwriters Showcase at 7:30 p.m.

  • Thursday, Dec. 7 The BYU Flute Choir will perform at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

  • Friday, Dec. 8 The Dance Department's Senior Showcase will begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the Dance Studio Theatre, 166 Richards Building.

    Also, Jay Lawrence will direct the Jazz Combo Night in the Madsen Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m.
