Experts in aspects of marriage and family, parenting skills and home life will come together to present “Families Under Fire 2006” Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 2-3, sponsored by the School of Family Life, the Division of Continuing Education and the Alumni Association at Brigham Young University.
This year’s theme is “In the Quiet Heart Is Hidden Sorrow That the Eye Can’t See.” Keynote speakers will include Brad Wilcox (with an appearance by Kenneth Cope), who will address “Hear Them Cry,” and Julie de Azevedo, who will discuss “Home: Strengthening Heavenly and Earthly Relationships.” Other presenters include Randy L. Bott, “Scriptures in the Home,” and John W. Welch, “Sorrow That the Eye Can’t See.”
Other topics will include video game violence and immorality, contention in the home, depression and ways to protect the family from suicide.
Classes will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 2, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3, with a lunch break each day from noon to 1:30 p.m. Lunch is not provided. For more information and to register, visit familiesunderfire.byu.edu or call (801) 422-8925.
