BYU hosts evening of electronic music Jan. 19

Brigham Young University faculty violinist LeeAnn Morgan and guest flutist Carlton Vickers will be featured during a unique electronic musical experience on Saturday, Jan. 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall. Admission is free.

This performance was originally listed on the BYU arts calendar for Friday, Jan. 18, but was rescheduled.

The program will include “Beyond the Zero” for violin and electronics by BYU composer Steven Ricks, “Huygens’ Workshop” for toy piano and electronics by BYU composer Neil Thornock, “Mareas (Tides)” for alto flute and electronics by University of Utah composer Miguel Chuaqui, “Cadence (III Decrescendo)” for electroacoustic surround sound by University of Washington DXArts composer Josh Parmenter and “Solo/Tutti” for violin and electronics by Richard Karpen, director of DXArts.
