BYU hosts Christmas luncheon Dec. 14

BYU Women will host a Christmas luncheon for its members Saturday (Dec. 14) at noon in the Wilkinson Student Center Skyroom on the Brigham Young University campus.

The theme, "Aspects of Christmas-Music for the Season," will be presented by tenor Jon Green, baritone Lisle Anderson, pianist DeAnn Gardner and flautist Amy Hill.

"It will be a touching and powerful musical event," says BYU Women President Katherine Rosenvall. For luncheon reservations and more information, contact Rosenvall at (801) 377-2461.

All female faculty and staff members and wives of faculty and staff are welcome to attend the luncheon, which will end the 2002 portion of the organization's event schedule.

BYU Women was started in 1914 when President George H. Brimhall called five women to provide a more consistent social support to the faculty. It grew throughout the century and now boasts a potential membership of 4,700 women.

Through its monthly activities and other events, the organization aims to provide intellectual and social opportunities to uplift and edify its members while promoting the ideals of the university. Also, refreshments will be served.
