BYU hosts 2005 Honors Symposium March 30-31

The Brigham Young University Honors Program will host the 2005 Honors Symposium, "Learn to Love, Love to Learn," Wednesday, March 30, at 5 p.m. in the BYU Museum of Art and Thursday, March 31, at 5 p.m. in the N. Eldon Tanner Building.

Registration is $5, which includes the cost of a banquet on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Tickets are available in 302 Maeser Building until Thursday, March 24.

"The Honors Symposium offers students of all disciplines a unique opportunity to broaden their minds and investigate their motivations for pursuing an education," said Scott Miller, Honors Program coordinator.

Harvard business professor Clayton Christensen will highlight the impact of his educational experiences and his love of learning during the keynote address at the banquet. A BYU Honors alumnus, Christensen's research and teaching interests center on management issues related to the development and commercialization of technological and business model innovation. Christensen is also the author of the best-selling books "The Innovator's Dilemma" and "The Innovator's Solution."

In addition to the keynote address, the symposium theme will be explored through an honors thesis fair, breakout sessions and musical performances. The breakout sessions will feature curator-led, in-depth examinations of the Museum of Art painting, "Christ Healing the Sick at Bethesda" and the new "Thoroughly Modern" exhibit, as well as a discussion of the role of travel study in education.
