BYU to host events for Engineering and Technology Week

In honor of National Engineers Week 2014, the Brigham Young University Ira A. Fulton College of Engineering and Technology will host interactive exhibits, competitions and tours for middle and high school students Thursday, Feb. 20, 9-11 a.m. and 12-2 p.m. in the WSC Garden Court.

This event is free and open to the public.

Hundreds of students will participate in demonstrations and competitions from several of the on-campus engineering and technology clubs. Previous years have included a laser truck rally, a variety of biomedical engineering and physics demos, the BYU Mars Rover and much more. Students will also get to tour campus labs and get exposure to the kind of research and jobs available to graduates in the different fields of engineering and technology.

The purpose of National Engineers Week is to increase appreciation for math, science and technology and to celebrate the contributions engineers make in the world.
