Guest artist Nancy Peery Marriott, soprano, will join BYU’s Chamber Orchestra as they perform at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be held in the de Jong Concert Hall. Brigham Young University’s Kinnect, a dance education company, will present a theatrical event, “Klassroom Kinnections,” at 6 p.m. at the BYU Museum of Art. The company will perform a lively and interactive dance lecture-demonstration. The group will also present art-inspired movement responses to the “Mirror-Mirror” art exhibit and other displays throughout the museum. Admission is free.

William Shakespeare's classic “As You Like It,” a political commentary and a comedy based upon the romantic complications of Orlando and Rosalind, will be presented at 7:30 p.m. in the Pardoe Theatre at Brigham Young University. Graduating seniors from the BFA Acting and Music Dance Theatre programs, who are preparing to audition in New York and Los Angeles, will preview their material in the “BFA Senior Showcase” at 7 and 9 p.m. in the Nelke Theatre. BYU's top jazz ensemble, Synthesis, directed by Ray Smith, will present “Jazzing the Classics and Thirdstream Jazz” at 8 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall. BYU’s School of Music presents String Chamber Night at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall. At the concert, performers are split into chamber groups such as string trios and string quartets, some appearing with piano. There are a few groups with unusual instrumentation, including a trio for flute, viola and harp. Admission is free.

Under the direction of Katie Williams, Jazz Voices will perform in the Madsen Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. The group is known for its tight harmonies, rhythmic accuracy, improvisation and scatting abilities. Some music is sung a cappella, and other arrangements utilize piano, guitar, bass and drum accompaniment. BYU’s Wind Symphony, conducted by Don Peterson, will perform at 8 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall. At the concert, the symphony will be joined by guest conductor David Blackinton and guest percussion soloist Ronald Brough. The program includes “Amparito Roca” by Jaime Texidor, “Amazing Grace” by John Newton and "The Golden Age of the Xylophone" by Floyd E. Werle. BYU’s Philharmonic Orchestra with Kory Katseanes conducting will present an evening of Beethoven, including the Symphony No. 5, at 8 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall. In addition, in an unprecedented performance, the BYU-based Deseret Piano Trio — comprised of Jeffrey Shumway, piano; Monte Belknap, violin; and Julie Bevan, cello — will be performing the Triple Concerto on string instruments created by the legendary Antonio Stradiveri. Graduate conducting major Jamie Teot will also direct the Philharmonic in a new work by Joseph Sowa, a composition major at BYU. The Jazz Lab Band will perform a free concert in the Madsen Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. The band is one of the seven organizations at BYU that gives interested students an opportunity to participate in a jazz ensemble. Admission is free.

The University Bands will perform a free concert in the de Jong Concert Hall at 7:30 p.m. These large groups, having typically more than 100 members in each ensemble, only meet during winter semester, after the marching band season has finished.
