In honor of the late President Ronald Reagan, the Special Collections Motion Picture Archives Film Series at Brigham Young University will present a screening of Irving Berlin's "This is the Army" featuring President Reagan Thursday, June 17, at 7 p.m. in the Harold B. Lee Library auditorium.
The public is invited to attend this free event.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and early arrival is encouraged as seating is limited. Children eight years old or older are welcome. No food or drink is permitted in the auditorium.
In addition to Reagan, the 1943 Technicolor film stars George Murphy and Joan Leslie, as well as 300 U.S. Army soldiers and other servicemen. The film features Reagan's favorite patriotic song, "God Bless America."
A rare uncut color print of the film will be shown and will feature a rare performance by Berlin in which he sings "My British Buddy" and "Oh How I Hate to Get Up in the Morning."
