BYU faculty invited to submit papers for international conference in June

Submission deadline is Jan. 7

The International Consortium for Educational Development invites Brigham Young University educators to submit papers for its 2008 international conference to be held in June 2008 at the site of Salt Lake City’s 2002 Olympic Village.

The ICED conference theme is "Towards a Global Scholarship of Educational Development." The paper submission deadline is Jan. 7, and the conference will be held June 12-15.

Conference Chair D. Lynn Sorenson of BYU’s Center for Teaching and Learning says it was a "coup to snag this conference for Utah because the biennial meeting has been held in the United States only once before."

Faculty members and administrators from more than 40 countries attend the conference, which is focused on supporting teaching and learning in higher education.

At the conference, participants will explore the research, theory and practice of effective teaching and will have the opportunity to network with colleagues from around the world.

For more information, visit ICED2008.org or contact D. Lynn Sorenson at (801) 422-7420.
