BYU facilities management program receives national honors

Brigham Young University’s Facility and Property Management program was recently awarded the International Facility Management Association’s Foundation Trustee Award and the Student Chapter of the Year Award at the association's international conference in San Antonio.

Robert Peterson, foundation chair, said it was the first time that an accredited degree program ever earned the trustee Award. Past recipients of the trustee award have included individuals, corporations and chapters that have made significant contributions to the IFMA Foundation and supported its cause.

Jeffery Campbell, BYU’s FPM Department chair, attended the conference with six students and Beverly Harmon, an advisor in the School of Technology. Trever Nicoll, IFMA student chapter president, accepted the award on behalf of BYU in front of an audience of 5,000 industry representatives.

IFMA is the accrediting body for BYU’s Facility and Property Management program and is the world’s largest international association for facility management professionals, with more than 22,000 members worldwide. Its members manage more than 37 billion square feet of property each year.
