BYU Concert Choir plans performance March 19

The Brigham Young University School of Music presents the Concert Choir under the direction of Rosalind Hall on Saturday, March 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

Tickets are $9 with $3 off with a BYU or student ID. For tickets, call the Fine Arts Ticket Office at (801) 378-4322 or visit performances.byu.edu.

The choir will sing hymns, folk songs of the world, two 20th-century Psalm settings and songs for double chorus.

Some of the songs the choir will sing include "Be Still My Soul" arranged by Dan Bird, "I Will Sing unto the Lord" by Imant Raminsh and "I Am Flying" from Taiwan arranged by Nan-Chang Chien.

Researchers say the results, showing higher social connection in US Hispanic and Mexican older adults, can be explained by the shared ethnic cultural value of familismo that prioritizes family, respect for the elders, and reliance on one another for essential support.
