BYU Concert Choir plans performance March 19

The Brigham Young University School of Music presents the Concert Choir under the direction of Rosalind Hall on Saturday, March 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

Tickets are $9 with $3 off with a BYU or student ID. For tickets, call the Fine Arts Ticket Office at (801) 378-4322 or visit performances.byu.edu.

The choir will sing hymns, folk songs of the world, two 20th-century Psalm settings and songs for double chorus.

Some of the songs the choir will sing include "Be Still My Soul" arranged by Dan Bird, "I Will Sing unto the Lord" by Imant Raminsh and "I Am Flying" from Taiwan arranged by Nan-Chang Chien.

Air traffic control for drones: BYU engineers introduce low-cost UAV detection technology

With the exponential rise in drone activity, safely managing low-flying airspace has become a major issue. Using a network of small, low-cost radars, engineering professor Cammy Peterson and her colleagues have built an air traffic control system for drones that can effectively and accurately track anything in an identified low-altitude airspace.
