BYU computer science professor named fellow of international academy

A Brigham Young University professor was recently elected to the Computer-Human Interaction Academy at an international conference in Vienna, Austria.

Dan Olsen, a professor of computer science, was elected to the CHI Academy Class of 2004 during the conference held last month.

The international academy elects five people per year out of more than 5,000 members. The group is comprised of the top researchers in the world in the field of computer-human interaction.

Olsen is internationally known for his work and was the 2002 recipient of the CHI Lifetime Service Award.

He is considered to be one of the earliest and most influential researchers in the user interface software domain.
