BYU Child and Family Studies Laboratory now accepting applications

For summer and fall 2006-winter 2007 school programs

The Brigham Young University Child and Family Studies Laboratory is now accepting applications for its summer and fall 2006-winter 2007 school programs.

The summer session includes preschool, pre-kindergarten and post-kindergarten sections. Children turning 4 years old by Sept. 1 are eligible for the preschool program. Children entering kindergarten in September are eligible for the pre-kindergarten program. Children entering first grade in September are eligible for the post-kindergarten program.

The summer school session begins June 26 and concludes Aug. 10. Tuition for the summer session is $225 for the seven-week program.

The fall 2006-winter 2007 session includes the preschool and kindergarten programs. Any child who turns 4 years old by Sept. 1 is eligible for the preschool program, and any child who turns 5 years old by Sept. 1 is eligible for the kindergarten program.

The program for preschool begins Sept. 11 and ends April 17, 2007. Tuition is $1,000 for the eight-month program. No late applications will be accepted.

The kindergarten program starts Aug. 21 and ends May 25, 2007. Tuition is $1,550 for the school year.

Applications for all programs and sessions will be accepted until April 1 and are available in 1100 Joseph F. Smith Building or by calling (801) 422-3219. Notification of acceptance will be mailed by April 15.

Green-thumb dynasty: BYU landscaping wins fifth national championship in six years

For the fifth time in six years, BYU students dug, pruned and planted their way to the National Collegiate Landscaping Competition title, the March Madness of college landscaping teams. BYU bested 50 other universities in the four-day event, outscoring the second-place finisher by more than 358 points and breaking the 5000-point total for the first time in the 48-year history of the tournament.
