BYU Chamber Orchestra plans Covey Center concert March 20

On Thursday, March 20, the Brigham Young UniversityChamber Orchestra under the direction of Kory Katseanes will perform at Provo’s Covey Center for the Arts.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 or$7 with a BYU or student ID. To purchase tickets, visit the Covey Center at 425W. Center Street in Provo or call (801) 852-7007.

The orchestra will perform Tchaikovsky’s Suite No. 4 in G Major, op. 61, “Mozartiana,” Debussy’s Petite Suite, Copland’s "Appalachian Spring" Suite andRossini’s Overture to"La gazza ladra."

Specializing in classical works, the ChamberOrchestra boasts a technical quality and diverse repertoire that have earned it the highestrecommendation rating from the National Endowment of the Arts, as well as arecording contract with Pyramid Records of Paris.

The orchestra frequently tours in the United Statesand Canada and has performed in China, Taiwan and throughout Europe. Theorchestra will embark on a tour of the Eastern United States in May that will takethem through several states, including Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Connecticutand New York.

Among other locations, the group will perform at the visitors’center of the Washington, D.C., Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ ofLatter-day Saints, Boston’s historic Faneuil Hall and New York’s famousCarnegie Hall.
