BYU Career Placement Services hosts Career Fair Sept. 29

Career Placement Services at Brigham Young University will host the campus-wide 2004 Fall Career Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, in the Wilkinson Center Ballroom and Garden Court.

More than 115 organizations from 22 states have registered for the fair. Employers represent a variety of sectors, including business, financial, technical, nonprofit and government.

Arnold Parrott, director of Career Placement Services, says while students graduating this year should make a special effort to attend, all students can benefit from attending by looking for internships and doing employer research.

"Freshman and sophomore students can certainly put their career search into better focus through the fair," Parrott says. "This is a fine time to do employer networking."

Students may make appointments in advance with Career Placement Services to receive help preparing their resume and improving their interviewing skills. Appointments can be made by calling 422-3000 or going to 2410 WSC.

Career placement coordinator Richard Cox, says students should visit careerfair.byu.edu to view a complete list of registered employers, dress recommendations and frequently asked questions.

"Students who research the employers they plan to visit and prepare good questions to ask will have a better experience," Cox says. "Success depends on the student's preparation."
