BYU camelid research topic of library lecture March 20

A Brigham Young University professor who is helping to better the standard of living in South America will speak about his work Thursday, March 20, at 2 p.m. in the Harold B. Lee Library auditorium.

Todd Robinson's lecture is a part of the Harold B. Lee Library's House of Learning lecture series.

Robinson, a professor of animal science, with a team of researchers at BYU study camelid animals. He said that of the 3 million camelids that populate the earth, 98 percent are found in South America and provide the people with meat and fur.

"Our main focus for the research is assisting South American camelid producers," Robinson said. "We look at nutrition, growth, meat aspects and the reproductive patterns of camelids."

The House of Learning lecture series, hosted by the library, aims to provide a forum where professors, students, and staff can openly discuss ideas. For more information, contact Brian Champion at (801) 422-5862.
