BYU again hosts U.S. National Amateur DanceSport Championship March 12-14

Hundreds of ballroom dancers of all ages will sweep into Provo to compete as Brigham Young University again hosts the United States National Amateur DanceSport Championship Thursday through Saturday, March 12-14, at the Marriott Center.

Single-day tickets range in price from $8-$16. Three-day ticket packages range in price from $23-$37. Tickets can be purchased online at www.byutickets.com, by phone at (801) 422-BYU1 or (800) 322-BYU1, or in person at the Marriott Center ticket office.

The BYU’s DanceSport Championship is among the largest amateur ballroom dance events in the country. Dancers from kindergarten age on up are invited to participate. The championship is divided into six categories, with national amateur titles awarded in Latin, standard, smooth, rhythm, cabaret and formation in all age groups.

BYU planetary geology professor Jani Radebaugh’s contributions to planetary science have reached cosmic proportions as she recently received the prestigious honor of having a minor planet named her. The asteroid, previously known as “45690,” now bears the name “45690janiradebaugh” on official NASA/JPL websites.
