Biblical archaeologist to discuss Hebron at BYU lecture Sept. 22

Biblical archaeologist Jeffrey R. Chadwick, an associate professor of Church history and doctrine at Brigham Young University, will present a lecture, “Discovering Biblical Hebron: The City of the Patriarchs,” Thursday, Sept. 22, at 11 a.m. in 374 Thomas L. Martin Building.

Chadwick’s research interests include the Book of Mormon in the land of Jerusalem, searching for the sepulchre of Jesus, New Testament archaeology and the archaeology of Biblical Hebron.

He spent 20 years teaching in the Church Educational System before coming to BYU. At the BYU Jerusalem Center, he taught Near Eastern studies for two years full-time and for 18 summers.
