Bassist Eric Hansen to give BYU faculty recital Oct. 30

The Brigham Young University School of Music will present a faculty artist recital featuring bassist Eric Hansen on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

Admission to the performance will be free and the public is welcome to attend.

The title of the recital is “Tribute to Oscar Zimmerman,” and it will highlight the work of the legendary bassist, who pioneered arranging and publishing solo literature for the double bass.

Hansen earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University. He has performed with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, the Manitoba Opera, the Utah Symphony and the National Chamber Orchestra in Washington, D.C.

He will be assisted during the performance by fellow School of Music faculty artists Jayne Galloway on piano and Monte Belknap on violin.

For more information, contact Eric Hansen at (801) 422-4135.
