Army War College to be subject of Global Awareness lecture Sept. 27

An associate professor of history at Brigham Young University and senior fellow of the James MacGregor Burns Academy of Leadership will deliver a Global Awareness lecture on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at noon in 238 Herald R. Clark Building.

Mark R. Grandstaff’s lecture is titled “To Think Differently Than We Have in the Past: The Army War College’s Role in Preparing Senior Military Officers to Lead in a Volatile and Uncertain World.” The public is welcome to attend.

Grandstaff, who received a master’s degree in history from BYU along with a bachelor of science degree magna cum laude in business and aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, joined the faculty of BYU in 1993, having previously taught at the University of California, Berkeley and at the University of Maryland University College. He also holds a doctorate in history from the University of Wisconson-Madison and served as an active-duty Air Force officer (1984–93).
