Annual Writing and Illustrating for Young Readers Workshop June 11-15 at BYU

Brigham Young University Conferences and Workshops will host the 8th Annual Writing and Illustrating for Young Readers Workshop June 11-15 at the BYU Conference Center.

The workshop will focus on how to write, illustrate and publish in the children’s and young adults’ fiction and non-fiction markets. Participants will be tutored in small group sessions by published authors and artists, including Carmen Agra Deedy, Ann Cannon, Dave Wolverton, Martine Leavitt, Gloria Skurzynski and Guy Francis.

All beginning to advanced writers and illustrators over the age of 15 are welcome to register for either all-day participation, which costs $450, or for the afternoon sessions only, which costs $120.

Morning sessions will be spent in writing groups of 13-15 people directed by award-winning authors. Group members will share their writing with the group and receive feedback and instruction. The afternoon sessions will consist largely of presentations by the various published authors and artists.

Space in individual sessions is limited, so those interested in participating should enroll as soon as possible.

For more information or to register, visit http://wifyr.byu.edu or call (801) 422-2568.
