Annual BYU Social Work Conference Oct. 19 to focus on pornography addiction

Brigham Young University’s School of Social Work will host its Annual School of Social Work Conference Friday, Oct. 19, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the BYU Conference Center, located northeast of the Marriott Center.

The topic this year is “Pornography Addiction and Families,” and the registration link as well as information about the conference and speakers are available here. Free CEU credits are offered in social work and marriage and family therapy.

This conference will provide clinicians with the opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills to better treat their substance-abusing clients and their families.

Pornography addiction is a major issue plaguing the United States, including Utah, according to Bonnie Kirkham with the School of Social Work. Pornography addiction does not just affect the user, but affects all of society, and most importantly, the family of the pornography addict.

For more information, contact the BYU School of Social Work, (801) 422-3282, socialwork@byu.edu.
