Annual BYU Management Conference scheduled for June 29-July 1

The Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University will host its 11th Annual BYU Management Conference June 29-July 1.

The annual event will feature internationally and nationally renowned speakers such as Jon M. Huntsman, Sr., chairman, Huntsman Corporation; Kim Smith, vice-president, Goldman, Sachs & Co.; Bruce Reece, president and CEO, Bonneville International Corporation; and Elder Ben B. Banks, Emeritus General Authority and director of hosting for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

These and other top executives, professors and business leaders will share their experiences in building trust in organizations, addressing the conference’s theme, “Business With Integrity: Principles for Building Leadership in Organizations, Communities and Families.”

The conference will be conducted in the BYU Conference Center located northeast of the Marriott Center on the BYU Provo campus. A registration discount is available through June 21. Online registration and more information are available at marriottschool.byu.edu/mgtconf.

"The conference consistently presents leading research and practice," says Robert Gardner, director of alumni relations for the Marriott School. "The last two I attended enlightened me on a range of topics, from hedge funds to leadership communication strategies."

While the conference is geared toward professionals, activities and programs will be available for toddlers, children and teenagers. A luau with entertainment by BYU’s Living Legends will be available Thursday night for all participants and their families. A Friday-night banquet will feature Elder Banks as a guest speaker. The conference will conclude Saturday morning with the annual golf tournament, which will take place at the Thanksgiving Point Golf Club.

New to this year’s schedule is a pre-conference workshop on June 28, hosted by the Marriott School's William G. Dyer Institute for Leading Organizational Change. The workshop will examine the integration of ethical behavior in strategy implementation. Also, Marriott School faculty and other participating managers will facilitate panel discussions of various challenges and viewposts relating to business ethics.
