Annual BYU Gerontology Conference March 12, 13 at Hinckley Center

Brigham Young University will host the 24th Annual Russell B. Clark Gerontology Conference, Wednesday and Thursday, March 12 and 13, in the Hinckley Alumni and Visitor Center Assembly Hall and in B190 of the Joseph F. Smith Building.

The conference is free of charge and no registration is necessary. 

Patricia Grady, Director of the National Institute of Nursing Research, will deliver the keynote address on the “State of the Science for the Aging Population” on Wednesday, March 12 at 7 p.m. in the Hinckley Alumni and Visitor Center Assembly Hall. Also speaking are BYU professors Robert Hyldahl on “Combating the Degeneration of Skeletal Muscle Associated with Aging” and Jonathan J. Wisco on “Oxidative Stress and Alzheimer’s Disease.” There remarks will be followed by a reception.

On Thursday, March 13, 2014, from 11:00-11:50 a.m., Grady will again speak in B037 of the Joseph F. Smith Building. She will speak on “The Role of Nursing Science in Health Research.”
