Annual BYU Adventssingen will be Dec. 7 at Provo Tabernacle

The 33rd annual Brigham Young University Adventssingen, a concert of traditional European Christmas music celebrating the Advent of the Nativity, will be held Sunday, Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Provo Tabernacle.

A previously distributed calendar mistakenly listed the starting time as 6:30 p.m.

This free event is sponsored by BYU’s Department of Germanic and Slavic Languages and will feature Austrian, German and Swiss Christmas music as well as readings from the Bible.

The program is meant for German and non-German speakers alike, although non-German speakers may benefit from bringing an English Bible to follow along.

In the Roman Catholic tradition, the Advent season focuses on spiritual preparation for the Nativity of Jesus during the four weeks leading up to Christmas.

For more information about the concert, contact Kathryn Isaak at (801) 422-2376 or kathryn_isaak@byu.edu.
