Andrew Skinner to present BYU devotional April 11

Director of the Neal A. Maxwell Institute for Religious Scholarship

Andrew C. Skinner, director of the Neal A. Maxwell Institute for Religious Scholarship and former dean of Religious Education at Brigham Young University, will speak Tuesday, April 11, at 11:05 a.m. in the Marriott Center for a campus devotional.

Live broadcasts will be available on KBYU-TV (Channel 11), BYU-Television, KBYU-FM (89.1), BYU-Radio and byubroadcasting.org, as well as on campus in the Joseph Smith Building Auditorium and the Varsity Theater in the Wilkinson Student Center. Rebroadcast information is available at byubroadcasting.org.

The former chair of the Department of Ancient Scripture at BYU, Skinner will speak on “The Nature and Character of God.”

He has authored or co-authored more than 100 publications and has also filled three teaching assignments at the BYU Jerusalem Center. His principal research languages include Hebrew and Aramaic, and he has expertise in ancient Near Eastern history, the Hebrew Bible and the Dead Sea Scrolls.
