Andrew S. Gibbons to deliver BYU devotional Jan. 25

Andrew S. Gibbons, department chair of Instructional Psychology and Technology in the David O. McKay School of Education at Brigham Young University, will discuss “The Skills of a Saint” at the weekly devotional Tuesday, Jan. 25, at 11:05 a.m. in the Marriott Center.

The devotional will be broadcast live on the BYU Broadcasting channels and online at byub.org. Rebroadcast and archive information will be available at byub.org/devotionals or speeches.byu.edu.

Gibbons has been teaching at BYU since 2003. Prior to his time at BYU he was a faculty member in Instructional Technology at Utah State University for 10 years. He also led instructional design projects for 18 years at Wicat Systems Inc. and Courseware Inc.  and worked for two years at Springville Middle School teaching English.

His work has included large-scale training development projects, re-engineering of the development (ISD) process, computer-based instruction, military and commercial aviation training development and research and development on instructional simulations. His current research interests focus on the architecture of the technology-based instructional product.

He received his bachelor’s degree in English in 1969 and his doctorate in instructional psychology in 1974 from BYU.
