Administrative Advisory Council seeks nominations for annual awards

The BYU Administrative Advisory Council (AAC) invites members of the campus community to nominate administrative and staff employees to receive the Ben E. Lewis Management Award, the Fred A. Schwendiman Performance Award and the President's Appreciation Award.

Previous winners of the President's Appreciation Award may be nominated for the Ben E. Lewis Management and Fred A. Schwendiman Performance Awards.

Nominations must be limited to 500 words in each of the three categories listed below, for a maximum of 1,500 words. All administrative and staff employees who are nominated for these awards should exhibit the following characteristics:

  • Performance and Creativity: Nominees should demonstrate excellence within their areas of responsibility. The following are key considerations: quality and quantity of work, dependability, proficiency, initiative, people skills, sustained high performance, ability to take and give directions, originality, imagination and progressiveness.

  • Personal Traits: Nominees should possess admirable personal qualities, such as positive attitude, good judgment, proper example to colleagues and students, maturity and willingness to cooperate. In other words, they should live in harmony with the moral virtues that characterize the life and teachings of the Son of God.

  • Commitment to the university: Nominees should reflect a spirit of dedicated service to the university and to those with whom they work and associate. Their work should ultimately assist the university in achieving its purposes and goals. Nominations may be submitted through Friday, Dec. 8 using the AAC Web site: http://aac.byu.edu. Those without Internet access may contact Jo Scofield at 4198B JFSB, jo@byu.edu or ext. 2-3054 to receive a hard copy of the award nomination form.

Faculty members have a separate recognition process and are not eligible for any of these awards.
