Academy of LDS Dentists to meet at BYU Aug. 13-14

The 33rd annual Conference for the Academy of LDS Dentists will be held at the Brigham Young University Conference Center Friday and Saturday, Aug. 13-14.

The conference provides two full days of classes and lectures by well-known and established dentists. Speakers include Dale A. Miles, Gerald A. Niznick, Fred Quarnstrom, M. Nader Sharifi and Bruce W. Small. They will be lecturing on new techniques and services available to dentists.

Registration for the conference is required. Different registration options are available for dentists, retired dentists, assistants, spouses and hygienists. Visit ce.byu.edu/cw/dentist/registration.cfm for more details. Registration closes online Aug. 11 but will be available in person at the conference Aug. 13.

Classes and programs are available for dentists’ spouses. The spouses’ program will include topics that focus on the ability to meet and overcome challenges that affect the lives of the spouses of LDS dentists. Speakers will include Don Aslett, Sandra Phillips, Gary and Joy Lundberg, Camille Fronk Olson, Brad Wilcox, professors from BYU and local movie directors and authors.

Activities for the youth are also available. They will be participating in trips to water parks, This is the Place Heritage Park and local BYU museums.

The Academy of LDS Dentists also organizes missions to places like Uganda, Mali, China, Samoa and Guatemala to promote dental education. They also visit places across the United States to teach and provide dental work to individuals in need.
