4th Annual BYUFOLKS Children's Choir Festival scheduled for Jan. 8

The Brigham Young University School of Music hosts the 4th Annual BYUFOLKS Children's Choir Festival with guest conductor Vicki McMurray Saturday, Jan. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Joseph Smith Building auditorium on the south end of campus.

Tickets are $3. For tickets, call (801) 422-4322 or visit performances.byu.edu. Tickets will also be available at the door.

McMurray will direct an ensemble including the Wasatch Concert Choir, Sunset View Singers, Rock Canyon Concert Choir, Spring Creek Concert Choir, Barrett Elementary Sounds of the Season, Joaquin Elementary School Chorus, American Heritage School Choir, Utah Children's Choir, Edgemont Elementary School Choir, Westridge Fifth-Sixth Grade Choir, Franklin Singers and the Canyon Crest Sixth Grade Choir.

BYUFOLKS is BYU's student chapter of the Organization of American Kodaly Educators, a nationwide organization for elementary music education majors. Kodaly Educators are dedicated to enriching the quality of life through music and the philosophies of Zoltan Kodaly, a renowned 20th century composer, linguist, music educator and humanitarian.
