2006 BYU DanceSport Championships to be presented Nov. 10-11

The 2006 Brigham Young University DanceSport Championships, featuring U.S. professional semifinalists Urs Geisenhainer and Agnes Kazmierczak, will take place in the Wilkinson Student Center Ballroom Friday and Saturday, Nov. 10-11.

General admission is $10 or $18 for both nights, reserved seats are $12 or $22 for both nights and table seats are $16 or $30 for both nights. Student tickets are available for $7 or $12 for both nights. Tickets can be purchased at the Fine Arts Ticket Office, by calling (801) 422-7664 or by visiting performances.byu.edu.

The competition will be divided into four sessions beginning at noon on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Participants in BYU dance classes will compete at the bronze, silver and gold levels. Dances will include the polka, waltz, cha-cha, foxtrot, tango and paso doble. Youth and nonstudents are also scheduled to compete.

The BYU DanceSport Championships have become one of the country's largest amateur ballroom dance competitions. Dancers in all skill levels are welcome to compete.
