Name: Kendra Hall-Kenyon
BYU employee since: 2002
My job at BYU is… interim dean of the David O. McKay School of Education.
Currently I’m working on… settling into my new position as interim dean. I am also working with colleagues to develop parent resources to help support children’s early language and literacy skills.
What makes teaching the greatest job in the world is… the students! This was true when I was a first-grade teacher, and it is also true at the university. Teaching is the greatest profession because every day you have the opportunity to have a positive impact on someone else’s life.
The best advice I’ve ever gotten about teaching is… who you are is more important than what you teach.
When I have 30 minutes of free time, you can find me… talking to my mom on the phone. I have four brothers and no sisters, and my mom is my best friend!
My advice to incoming freshmen is… you will find what you are looking for, so look for the good.
My go-to BYU Creamery ice cream flavor is… Tin Roof Sundae.
My favorite Cougar athletes are… #87 Clinton Hall and #66 Nathan Hall.
The title of my autobiography would be… good things come to those who wait.
My favorite quote is… "You can have a no problem day, but you can’t have a no problem life." (six-year-old Max Kenyon)
