Name: Anthony Sweat
BYU employee since: 2013
My job at BYU is… teaching large classes of the cornerstone Church history and doctrine course called "Foundations of the Restoration."
I’m currently working on… a study comparing the effectiveness of different types of religion class modalities, as well as a few paintings of Jesus and Church history.
I get most excited about my work when… I can help someone grasp the greatness of the Restoration.
When I tell people I work for BYU, they often say… “I’d love to do what you get to do! (Do you get free football tickets?)"
Students don’t think I notice… their shoes (especially if they are Air Jordans).
The best advice I’ve ever got about teaching is… you teach what you are.
I’ve hiked Y Mountain… one too many times.
My go-to comfort food is… a Cafe Rio pork barbacoa burrito.
My most cherished memory at BYU is… when they started selling Coca-Cola on campus. (One step closer to the restoration of all things!)
I chose to come to BYU because... I would have the privilege to teach thousands of bright students about the restored gospel at a world-class university, surrounded by brilliant colleagues with whom I could collaborate.
