My job at BYU is… associate professor in the School of Social Work.
I’m currently working on… new projects with refugee communities in Turkey.
I’m currently reading… “All About Love” by bell hooks.
My advice to graduating seniors is… nurture those dreams that are developing deep within your heart and let them fly!
Living and traveling abroad ...changed the way I view the world because... there are so many people who live in such different and interesting ways.
My fondest memory from my childhood is when… my brother was born. I was five, I felt so much love and responsibility for him!
The best-kept BYU secret is… the beautifully forested walkways around the southwest corner of campus.
My favorite part about teaching is… seeing the wheels turn and click in students’ brains and connecting with their visions for the world.
My favorite joke is… what do you call a fish with two knees? Tu-nee fish!
I get most excited about my work when… people apply our research findings in ways that help communities.
Learning about poverty and inequality as a freshman at BYU ...sparked my interest in my field.
